Based on Eastern beliefs, Reiki is a non-invasive energy healing technique that helps balance and align the central nervous system. This type of therapy promotes relaxation, reduces stress and anxiety.
The session consists of using a series of 12 to 15 different had positions, and unlike a therapeutic massage where pressure is applied to an exposed area and massaged, during a reiki session, the client is fully clothed and the therapist's hands are gently placed on different parts of the body or just above.
The therapist, with intention, then acts as a conduit between the client and the so called, energy life force. This helps guide this energy in a way that creates a sense of peace, relaxation, security and balance.
Reiki therapy can be used for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing.
