It is my goal to provide you with a positive therapeutic experience that leaves you with a complete sense of well being.

Montserrat Markou, MS, LAc, LMT

Acupuncture & Massage Therapist

Personal quote:

"When you make yourself a priority, you are creating a strong foundation for everything else to grow upon."

Montserrat is a NYS licensed and board certified acupuncture and massage therapist. Trained in the US, Europe and China, she brings more than 15 years of alternative medicine experience into her sessions.  She founded Alquimia Wellness in 2006, opening her first private practice in one of the major medical hubs of Long Island's North Shore where she was highly respected by her clients as well as the centers' medical professionals.

Montserrat moved to Williamsburg in 2015 and decided it was the perfect location to resume her practice.  Feeling tremendously blessed to have been part of so many clients' wellness journeys in her Long Island clinic, she looks forward to continue to bring the healing benefits of her acupuncture and massage therapies to the Williamsburg community.

She has extensive experience in working with a variety of clients, from those looking for relief of general stress, to more complex issues concerning pain, emotional wellness, women's health, infertility support and the symptoms of chronic illness.

When it comes to decreasing persistent muscle tension, increasing mobility and flexibility, her expertise in releasing trigger points with Dry Needling is one of her most sought out specialties by many, including fitness enthusiasts, professional athletes, and broadway dancers.

She leads a lifestyle that celebrates healthy living, enjoys long walks, and is passionate about music and the arts.
